Rough Week

It's been a really rough week but it was a nice blessing finding this on the table at the doctor's office today. Jeremiah 29:11

The editors of Sacramento Parent Magazine are great advocates for kids in Foster Care. They did this nice story on our family and the process for adopting kids.

It was so nice to find this on the table at the doctor's office after such a long week. I have been sick with a kidney infection and after a CT scan thankfully found out it wasn't anything bigger than that. It was very stressful and really makes you thin about life and family. So grateful for the blessings in our life, for a health and for a God who is faithful in the good times and bad.

Prom for old people

We were thrilled to be a part of The Glass Slipper Enchanted Evening Gala Fundraiser. I helped project manage the event and was so happy to see it all come to fruition. Assemblywoman Beth Gaines was our keynote speaker and the event went off great, with lots of money raised for an incredible organization. Plus, who does;t love a chance to get dressed up!!

Gymnastics girl...

After the Olympics this year, Haylie decided she wanted to take gymnastics. The kids did some play-gym type classes when they were younger but I decided to sign Haylie up at Technique Gymnastics, which is a bigger gym with a competitive team. So far she loves it and it's a great workout for her - it lasts an hour and a half and it is some really hard work!!!

The morning after she started gymnastics she woke up complaining that her back really hurt. She didn't feel well enough to go to school so I let her stay home. About mid-morning she said she felt better and was ready to go to school. When I took her to the office and signed her in I told the front desk lady that she had been complaining about her back hurting that morning and that's why she hadn't come to school. They office assistant asked if she does gymnastics. I don;t know why I hand;t made the connected but she was right! I told her she had just started the day gymnastics the day before and she said, "well, that will do it!"

She is only in Level 1 for now but we'll see where she goes with this:

Pajama Party

For Haylie's 7th birthday party we had a "Princess and the Pea Pajama Party" with all her BFF's from school.  They all came in their pajamas with their favorite stuffed animals. The day was filled with cupcake making, diary decorating, relay races, bedtime stories, hair salon and of course - only girls, no boys allowed!!!

Headshots

It's not often I take to take pictures of my most favorite person in the world. Micah needed some updated head shots for work and some other upcoming things. I am so proud of this handsome man!! Love him more each and every day!!!

Haylie is 7!

Happy Birthday to my baby girl who turns seven today! We are so blessed by her joy and kindness, her ability to love others and her heart for God. Her most recent choice of book she is reading is Kisses From Katie - about a young lady serving children in Uganda. She is so excited telling me about all the things Katie is doing and is already wanting to go there to care for the kids, send supplies or anything else she can do to help. So thankful for her loving heart and how she has changed our lives from the day she was born! (Eph 3:20)
