Summer In Style - Part 2

No trip to Tahoe is complete without a couple good hikes. It was the biggest treat to have Grandma be able to hike with us this time after her lung transplant. We chose an easy, flat hike for her first time out and it turned out to be a beautiful meadow hike out to a lookout point.

Tahoe Meadows Hike:

Later in the week we went on our own little family hike. This was one of my favorite hikes to date. It had amazing views from every direction of the mountain. It included guided signs along the way - marking the state line and letting the hiker know the history of what they are looking at. This was a relatively easy hike and the payoff at the top was amazing!!

Stateline Lookout Hike:

Summer in Style

We had the opportunity to join Grandma and Grandpa at their condo in Tahoe for a short vacation this summer - and what an incredible little vacation it was. We absolutely loved the resort where we stayed. The room and the grounds were beautiful but the best part was the private beach with the load of different boats available for free use to guests of the resort. We had soooo much fun taking out all the boats - canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, stand up paddle boards, etc. Plus the kids were huge fans of the big trampoline in the middle of the lake that we could boat out to and jump on til their hearts' content!

Jaime and the kids stopped by and hung out with us for the day:
Haylie loved getting cozy in our room after swimming at the lake all day:

Can't believe there are only 3 weeks of summer left. I love hanging out with these two - I wish it would never end!

Learning to swim

James has really taken off in his swimming this year after Daddy offered him money to put his face in the water. Last year in swim lessons James would barely even stay in the pool with the instructor. He would just get out and tell her he was done and come try to sit by me. This year he was a little more open to swimming but still struggling to put his face in. Micah told me to offer him money and I of course said no way - I wasn't going to bribe him to put his face in the water. So Micah bribed him anyways and it totally worked! James now "loves" putting his face in the water. He is quickly catching up to Haylie in his swimming abilities and really loves diving for rings.

Summer Blast is a blast

The kids love attending VBS at our church each year and this year was especially exciting since their cousins were in town and able to join in on the fun!

Baby Shower

We headed to Lancaster this weekend to celebrate Bekah and Baby Paxton who is due in September. Haylie was SO excited she could go to the baby shower with all the big girls and she even won one of the games and got a prize. She thought the whole thing made for the best day ever!!
