Love Day

We always like to have a fun time with Valentine's day. It's a holiday about love and I really enjoy seeing the kids make cards for each other and get into the spirit. This year we all decorated mailboxes for our cards and little gifts from each other.

From Blue to Pink

They grow up so fast. Little Haylie who used to fight with her brother to get the blue cup, now loves everything pink. She is all about dresses, and princesses and jewelry boxes (with accompanying jewelry of course). She loves to dance like a ballerina and checks herself out in the mirror after she gets dressed.

Oh how I wish I had the time to blog more often!! I wish I could record every comment that cracks me up, every way they change and grow, and every little interaction that leaves me feeling blessed beyond belief. As it is, lately I tend to do infrequent blog catch-ups, usually when we are on vacation and not nearly detailed enough. As I read through past blog posts and as the kids sit for hours and look through my old scrapbooks and our recent blog books, it reminds me of the importance of keeping at it!

The Go-Go Game

Even though they're supposed to be sleeping, I secretly love listening to Haylie and James in their beds at night, chatting and playing - it is such a sweet bonding time for them. The other day I left their room after putting them to bed and I stopped at the top of the stairs because I figured I would have to come back anyways. As soon as I disappeared out of sight I heard from the room, "Is she gone? Do you want to play the Go-Go Game?"

I came back in to the room to talk to them about not being obedient but truthfully I was trying to stop from smiling because they were so cute together. I asked what the Go-Go Game was and they informed me it was something they play every night - I still have never been able to decipher exactly what it entails. Haylie says it's just a game they play and James says they just get up and play around.

Someday they'll have to teach me how to play!

Go Pack Go!

OK so I don't really like football and usually could care less about the superbowl. In fact, confession, I didn't even know who was playing in it the day of the game. When I asked Micah who he was rooting for he said he was hoping Green Bay would win because he didn't really like the quarterback of the other team. Well, confession #2, I sometimes read people magazine and such material while at the hair stylist or the gym or even standing in line at the grocery store - so when he told me the name of the quarterback on the opposing team - I was quite familiar with that whole fiasco. (Disclaimer: Now I know everything you read is not necessarily true and I have no idea what really happened, however I tend to see that people who are doing no wrong don't get continuously accused of the same thing for no reason).

So, to get into the spirit of the game, I quickly decided we were all showing our support for Green Bay at our friend's superbowl party that day and I dressed the whole family in green. :) Silly I know! It was fun though and I think Micah was glad because I am much more into sports if I know something about the players and who they are versus just the game itself.

ha ha! Go Pack go - I'm told that's their chant - I taught it to the kids :)

In the end, Green Bay won. As Haylie says - about her princess movies - the bad guy never wins in the end. At least that seemed to be the case this time :)

Here Comes the Sun

We had a little unexpected sunshine in the middle of the winter and we quickly took advantage of it, heading out for bike-rides and playing in the backyard. Can't wait 'til spring is really here and we can head back outside again.

Make Me Dance

James has this little stuffed penguin that he got as a gift from Micah's Aunt and whenever you squeeze it, it sings out in it's best helium-esque, penguin voice: "Make me dance..." I'm singing it in my head as a I type this and I wish I could include a sound clip with this post so you could all hear it as well- it really is hilarious (especially when James plays it over and over again for 3 hours on the way home from Fresno - I digress...) Whenever I think about dancing it's all I can hear!

Well our Bible Study group got together for Danielle's 30th birthday for some dancing fun. I was pretty bummed that all the guys were there except Micah - he had a work event :( and we couldn't find a babysitter! So sad! But we still had lots of fun.

Grant was our only dancing guy even though all the guys were there!

Happy Birthday Danielle!!!!
