The Heart Gallery

We had the chance to attend the Heart Gallery open house to support this organization who photographs children waiting for families. Some good friends of ours, the Skaggs went with us too and the kids loved playing with their friends Hannah and Isaiah.

Knott's Berry Farm

The day after Disneyland the gang headed over to Knott's Berry Farm. Grandma and I were happy with all the rides we had gone on the day before and decided to do a little shopping instead. Here are the pics Micah took of the kids at Knott's...

Micah actually bought this picture because he thought it was funny. He said James loved the ride but he wasn't so sure at first:

James really warmed up to the characters this trip. When we went to Santa Cruz in August he really didn't want to take pictures with the characters:

This is before the ride started - it was a kids free fall ride:

Haylie wasn't too thrilled. Micah said James loved all the rides but Haylie was the one who got scared and wasn't so sure about them

The kids love hanging out with Grandpa:

California Adventure

Can you believe we did Disneyland and CA Adventure in one day? It was a long and exhausting but fun filled day (8 am - 8 pm). I had never been to CA Adventure before because everyone says there isn't much there but there was quite a bit there. We went on many more rides and I wished we had more time there.

We watched Bug's Life just before we went so the kids would know the characters - there was a whole Bug's Life area at California Adventure.

Micah's Dad going on the spinning ride - all the adults drew straws to see who had to go on the spinning rides:

James playing with his new Toy Story toys that Grandma got him.

We watched the Alladin show and it was really good! The jeanie was absolutely hilarious!

Closing down the place:

Disneyland - The Characters

In addition to the rides, one of the funnest parts of Disneyland for the kids is the characters. We visited with lots of different characters in our one day at Disneyland:

Waiting to see the pincesses:

Haylie always introdcued her brother James to the characters / princesses:

Raider crashed Goofy's car:

Visiting with Minnie:

Hanging out in Mickey's house:

At the White Rabbit's house:

Haylie being shy with princess Tiana:

And now... off to California Adventure:

Disneyland - Club 33

Disneyland's Club 33 was quite the experience. It is a member's only club / eating area in Disneyland - it has a special door on Main Street that you wouldn't notice if you didn't know it was there, and then it leads up to Walt's special club that he created for entertaining dignitaries and celebrities. Micah's parents got an invitation by a member of the club and really wanted to try it out.

The most interesting part of the experience for me was the fancy bathroom. I went to the ladies room and opened the stall only to find this:
At first I thought it was a chair over the toilet and tried to move it. Then I thought maybe people peed through the holes. The more I thought about that the more it grossed me out!! There was someone in the stall next door so I decided to wait and hope that toilet looked different or at least ask them what to do. Thankfully when she walked out I saw that the seat lifted up!!! Not sure why I didn't think of that at first but it didn't even cross my mind. I wonder how many people pee through the holes!!!

Mickey mouse mac and cheese for the kids:

We celebrated Haylie, Auntie Bekah and Gigi's birthday while we were there:

Haylie was very excited about this mini cinderella cake - yes it was a cake - her very own. Thank you grandma!
